Coming Soon to the State Fairgrounds

State Agriculture Commissioner Darrel J. Aubertine today announced the following events that will be coming soon to the New York State Fairgrounds.           

Beginning Friday, Feb. 8 through Sunday, Feb. 10, Country Folk Art presents the ultimate craft show, Home Decor & More, in the Horticulture Building. If you’re suffering from a case of cabin fever, then come and shop top local and national artisan-crafters, all displaying and selling thousands of the finest useful, creative, yet affordable creations in beautiful three-sided room setting booths. There will be thousands of indoor and outdoor, fun and functional decorating accents and gifts for sale.  These include furniture, floral arrangements, lamps, prints, clothing, jewelry, gourmet delights, and many more unique finds you won’t find anywhere else. Bring your friends and come and see it all for yourselves. Admission is $6 for adults, while children 12 and under are free. A hand stamp will admit you all weekend. Event hours are 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10.    

On Saturday, Feb. 9 and Sunday, Feb. 10 come see the largest motorcycle showcase and swap meet under one roof in the Northeast at the 2013 Syracuse Super Swap in the Center of Progress Building. New and used motorcycles, and state-of-the-art parts and bikes will be on display and available for purchase. Buy new, build a re-cycled cycle, restore and rebuild at Syracuse’s annual indoor motorcycle showcase and swap meet. Door prizes and cash awards for custom bikes will be given away Sunday night from 3 to 5 p.m., entrees must be present to win. Event hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 12 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $15 on Saturday, $12 on Sunday and youths 16 and under are admitted free both days of the event.      

Apart from the annual New York State Fair, the Fairgrounds host dozens of agricultural events throughout the year, including some of the Northeast's most prestigious horse and livestock shows.           

The Fairgrounds, home of the Great New York State Fair, is a 375-acre exhibit and entertainment complex that operates year round. A year-round schedule of Fairgrounds events is available on the Fair's website.
