The Holidays Shoppes are open Friday from 10 a.m. 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. 6 p.m., and Sunday from Noon 5 p.m.  Admission at the door is $8, with advance sale tickets available at Price Chopper for $6.  A pass providing access for all three days is available for an additional $2.  Children under age 10 are free of charge.  More information is available at http://www.jlsyracuse.com/.

In the Exhibit Center, the Leatherstocking Cluster Fall Dog Shows take place from Friday to Sunday.  This is an opportunity to see live the kinds of obedience, rally, and breed events you normally only see on TV. More than 100 breeds and varieties will be represented. Visitors are welcome to talk to exhibitors.

Admission is free on Friday.  Saturday and Sunday, admission is $5 for adults, $2 for seniors and children aged 12 and under.  Spectators in wheelchairs are admitted free of charge.

The New York State Fair, operated by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, runs from August 21 September 1, 2014.  The Fair’s mission is to showcase the best of New York agriculture while providing top-quality entertainment.

In addition to the annual New York State Fair, the Fairgrounds host dozens of agricultural events throughout the year, including some of the Northeast’s most prestigious horse and livestock shows.

The home of the Great New York State Fair is a 375-acre exhibit and entertainment complex that operates all year. A year-round schedule of events is available on the Fair’s website.  Find The Great New York State Fair on Facebook, follow @NYSFair on Twitter, and enjoy photos from the Fair at Flickr.com/photos/nysfair. Also, New Yorkers are invited to send their ideas for the Great New York State Fair at statefairideas@agriculture.ny.gov.
