The New York State Council on Food Policy will hold its annual winter meeting on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Hunter College Silberman School of Social Work, 2nd Floor Auditorium and Lobby, 3rd Avenue at 119th St., New York, NY.
Those wishing to attend and present comments must RSVP no later than December 9, 2013 by calling the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets at 518-457-1721 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The New York State Council on Food Policy is charged with facilitating the creation of new food policies for the State that will help ensure the availability of safe, fresh, nutritious and affordable food for all New Yorkers, and expanding agricultural food production.
The Council’s recommended State food policies focus on four key issue areas: maximizing participation in and support for food and nutrition assistance programs; strengthening the connection between local food products and consumers; supporting safe, efficient and profitable agricultural food production and food retail infrastructure; and fostering a culture of healthy and local eating for all New York State residents.
