Reality Show Couples Talk About Their Lives and Relationships at the Great New York State Fair
One of the Couples is Competing in the Finals of ‘The Amazing Race’
They came for the competition and left with the loves of their lives. Two couples who have appeared on the hit shows “Big Brother” and “The Amazing Race” – one of whom competes this weekend in the series finale -- will tell their stories of finding love amidst cutthroat competition on the Midway Music Series Stage at the Great New York State Fair at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, August 31.
Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas, and Jordan Lloyd and Jeff Schroeder will take part in a moderated discussion to talk about what it’s like to live the life of a reality show veteran and how they got into appearing on competition shows. They will also offer a candid discussion about their experiences on reality TV. After the discussion, they will hold a meet-and-greet with fans.
Reilly and Villegas met in 2010 while competing in “Big Brother” season 12. They were brought back as one of several couples for the 13th season of the show, and Reilly ended up the winner. They have since competed in two seasons of the reality adventure show “The Amazing Race,” finishing third in season 20. This Sunday, they will compete as one of the three final teams aiming for a $1 million price. The couple even got married on a reality show, “My Fair Wedding.” Reilly hosts a web-based talk show about reality TV called “Reality Relapse,” while Villegas is a PhD candidate at UCLA attempting to specialize in catching brain diseases caused by repeated concussions.
Lloyd and Schroeder also met on the set of “Big Brother,” during season 11. Lloyd won that competition, along with the heart of Schroeder. They then appeared on season 16 of “The Amazing Race.” Schroeder hosted an online series for CBS.com, "Around the World For Free" that chronicled his journey around the world without any money in his pocket. Jeff has hosted "Between Takes at CBS" and will be returning to CBS.com this summer to interview evicted house guests on Season 16 Big Brother "Live Chats with Jeff Schroeder". Lloyd completed her cosmetology degree and has established herself in the field. Together, they chronicled their move to Los Angeles in a CBS web series called “Jeff and Jordan Do America.”
Music and reality show appearances on the Midway Music Series stage are sponsored by Time Warner Cable. A Time Warner Cable News personality will moderate the discussion.
