Rabbi Aaron Metzger, Director, (718) 722-2852

Outside of Israel New York has the largest population of kosher consumers and more than 135,000 products are available on the market shelves. The Department continues to conduct kosher surveillance inspections to make sure all products are registered and all establishments that sell kosher are in compliance with the kosher laws.

New York’s Kosher Law Protection Act of 2004 – Search Registry

The Kosher Law Protection Act of 2004 requires that consumers of food represented as kosher in New York be provided with information identifying the person or organization certifying that food as kosher.

To do so, the Department is establishing an on-line registry of food represented as kosher. Those involved in the kosher food trade - certain producers, processors, packers, distributors, retailers and certifiers of kosher food products, as well as those who prepare kosher food – will need to file product and certifying information with the Department.

The information presented on these pages has been submitted to the Department by individuals and entities regulated under the Kosher Law Protection Act of 2004. The data consists of information received to date. You may wish to return to this web site periodically to view registration information that may be subsequently filed with the Department.
