Consumer Alert - Asia Cash & Carry Inc. Issues Alert on Undeclared Milk on “Nova Salted Biscuit"

ASIA CASH & CARRY INC. of Maspeth, NY is recalling packages of “Nova Salted Biscuit” because they contained undeclared milk. Consumers who have severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

“Nova Salted Biscuit” are sold in a 14.08 oz (400 gm) paper box with expiration dates of “March 2013”, “November 2013”, and “December 2013.”  The “Nova Salted Biscuit”, product of Bangladesh, was distributed nationwide.  

The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspector and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of milk which is not declared on the label.

No illnesses or allergic reactions involving this product have been reported to date. Consumers who have purchased packages of “Nova Salted Biscuit” are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with question may contact the company at 718 894 2505.
