Consumer Alert: Undeclared Milk in CB Brand “Instant Reishi Coffee 4 in 1”

New York State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball today alerted consumers to undeclared milk in CB brand “Instant Reishi Coffee 4 in 1” sold at Lucky 7 Asian Market located at 931 Niagara Street in Buffalo, NY.  To date, no illnesses have been reported to the Department of Agriculture and Markets in connection with this product. If consumed, the product may pose a serious risk to those who have a severe sensitivity to milk.

The recalled CB brand “Instant Reishi Coffee 4 in 1” is packaged in a 12.7 ounce foil bag.  The product has a UPC code of 8-93663-00225-8 and a container code of Lot C 2018 Exp 02 2019. The product is labeled as “Distributed by Chun Yuen Trading Co. (USA) Inc., 10922 Klingerman St. Unit#2 So. Wl Monte, CA 91733.” 

Routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Safety Inspectors and subsequent analysis of the product by the New York State Food Laboratory revealed the product contained milk allergens, which were not declared on the label.
