Undeclared Almonds In Standard Brand Mango Burfee
The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets alerted consumers today that Standard Sweets Corporation, 135-16, 109th Avenue, South Ozone Park, New York, 11420 is recalling “Standard Brand Mango Burfee” because it contains undeclared almonds. People who have an allergy to almonds run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
The recalled product, “Standard Brand Mango Burfee” is packaged in un-coded, 14 oz. clear, plastic containers. “Standard Brand Mango Burfee” was sold in the New York City area.
The problem was discovered as a result of routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by the Department’s Food Laboratory personnel.
No illnesses have been reported to date to this Department in connection with this problem.
Consumers who have purchased “Standard Brand Mango Burfee” are urged to return them to Standard Sweets Corporation.
