Undeclared Allergens: Shark’s Custard and Candy Inc.,
New York State Agriculture and Markets Commissioner Patrick Hooker today alerted consumers that Shark’s Custard and Candy Inc., trade name State Street Creamery, 50 State Street, Bloomfield, New York, 14469, is recalling all ice cream in 1-quart containers manufactured before May 25, 2007 due to undeclared allergens, specifically eggs, soy, and Yellow #5.
People who have an allergen or severe sensitivity to these ingredients run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The ice cream was distributed to six retail stores in Ontario and Monroe Counties under the Shark’s Custard and Candy Inc. label.
This problem was discovered during a routine label review conducted by New York State Agriculture and Markets Dairy Inspectors.
No illnesses have been reported to date to this Department in connection with this recall.
