Uundeclared Peanuts in V-like Ompadi 1kg
New York State Agriculture Commissioner Patrick Hooker today announced that MCM Corporation, 339 Troutman St, Brooklyn, New York 11227 is recalling "V-like Ompadi" because it contains undeclared peanuts. People who have an allergy to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
The recalled product, "V-like Ompadi" is packaged in a 1 KG aluminum laminate bag coded "EXPIRY DATE 28 FEB 2007". The "V-like Ompadi" was sold in metropolitan New York City and New Jersey. It is a product of Malaysia.
The problem was discovered as a result of routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by the Departmentís Food Laboratory personnel that peanut-containing product was distributed in packages that did not reveal the presence of peanuts.
No illnesses have been reported to date to this Department in connection with this problem. Consumers who have purchased "V-like Ompadi" are urged to return them to the place of purchase.
