Cardona's Market, INC issues Allergy Alert: on Undeclared Milk Allergens in "Vodka Sauce"

Cardona's Market INC of Albany, NY is recalling its 25 oz. jars of Vodka Sauce because they may contain undeclared milk allergens. Consumers who are allergic to milk allergens may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

The product comes in a 25oz. glass clear jar with gold button cap. All lot codes marked on the back of the jar are applicable to this press release. The recalled Vodka Sauce was sold in our Albany store.

The recall was initiated after routine sampling by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of undeclared milk allergens in the 25 oz. package of Vodka Sauce which did not declare a milk ingredient on the label.

No illness or allergic reactions involving this product have been reported to date. Consumers who have purchased 25 oz. jars of Vodka Sauce may return the product to Cardona's Market for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact Cardona's Market with any questions at 518-434-4838. We would like to remind our customers that this is a recall for an undisclosed milk allergen ONLY.
