Statement from Commissioner Patrick Hooker
Regarding Status of New York State Dairy Assistance Program
"Applications for the New York State Dairy Assistance Program continue to come into the Department and we are processing that information as quickly as possible. Currently, we believe that the vast majority, approximately 90 percent, of eligible milk has been accounted for in the applications received thus far. For those producers that sent in their applications that were complete and accurate by April 27, 2007, payments are still expected to be made on May 9, 2007."
"Since there still may be eligible milk unaccounted for and to ensure that every producer has the opportunity to apply for this funding, we will continue to accept applications while we process payments and review applications in question. Therefore, if you have not yet sent in your application, it is critical that you do so now."
