NYS Fair to Open Bid for Next Year’s Entertainment
New York State Agriculture Commissioner Patrick Hooker today announced that the New York State Fair will seek proposals for booking and promoting entertainment at its Grandstand and Chevy Court concert venues for the 2009 State Fair.
The Department will seek proposals after the completion of the 2008 New York State Fair for booking entertainment, promoting its concerts and selling concert tickets. The Department may also seek assistance in managing its overall entertainment presentation, including production and presentation.
The 2008 New York State Fair has a one-year contract with Live Nation. With more than a week still remaining before the Fair opens, the concert series has sold more tickets and brought in more revenue then ever before, while offering fairgoers a lower ticket price than in previous years
