State Fair Entertainment Contract Approved

Triangle Talent to Book Entertainment; Contract can be Renewed for 2 More Years

New York State Agriculture Commissioner Patrick Hooker today announced that the contract to retain Triangle Talent to book the entertainment for the 2009 New York State Fair has been approved by all parties.

“We appreciate the guidance provided by the State Comptroller, as well as the patience of Triangle Talent and the public as this matter was resolved,” the Commissioner said.  “We are very pleased with the artists Triangle Talent has secured for us thus far and look forward to completing the line up of entertainment for the 2009 New York State Fair, which will offer a variety of acts at an affordable price for all fairgoers.”

State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli said, “Yesterday, my office approved the State Fair’s contract with Triangle Talent to provide concert booking services for the State Fair.  We have worked with the Department of Agriculture and Markets over the past several weeks to create a contract arrangement that is fair to New York state taxpayers, State Fair attendees and concert vendors seeking to do business with the state.  The contract we approved achieves these goals.”

The approved contract may be renewed with Triangle Talent to cover the 2010 and 2011 New York State Fairs.

The 2009 New York State Fair will take place August 27 through September 7 in Syracuse.  To date, Triangle Talent has booked six national acts to perform at the Grandstand, including rock star Kid Rock, country music legend Kenny Chesney and comedy ventriloquist Jeff Dunham.  Triangle Talent has also put together other top name entertainment for Chevy Court that will feature two different shows each day at no cost to the fairgoer.
