Final Weekend for Musical Comedy at the Fairgrounds This Week

The Coliseum Classic Horse Show Also Takes Place

State Agriculture Commissioner Darrel J. Aubertine today announced the following events running from Thursday, August 8 to Sunday, August 11 at the New York State Fairgrounds:

The Coliseum Classic Horse Show takes place in the Toyota Coliseum from Friday, August 9 to Sunday, August 11.   This Hunter horse show is intended to be a fun event for anyone who loves horses.  Horses and riders will compete in a variety of categories as they walk, trot, or navigate courses.  The show is open to the public with no admission fee.  It begins at 8 a.m. each day.

This is the final weekend of performances of The Talent Company’s “Cooking with the Calamari Sisters” in the Art & Home Center’s Empire Theater.  This musical comedy features the show’s original cast in the story of two sisters laughing, singing, and cooking their way through their final public access TV cooking show.  Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.  Tickets are $32.50 general admission, $30.50 for seniors and students.  Discounts are available for groups of 15 or more.  Tickets can be purchased online at:
