Two Horse Shows Highlight This Weekend’s Events at the New York State Fairgrounds
Annual Mother’s Day Theatre Organ Concert Also Taking Place
Acting New York State Fair Director Troy Waffner today announced the following events taking place from Friday, May 9 to Sunday, May 11 at the New York State Fairgrounds:
The Bridle Path Manor Junior/Amateur Hunter Horse Show takes place in the Toyota Coliseum from Friday, May 9 to Sunday, May 11. Horses and riders will be judged in a number of categories. Doors open at 8 a.m. each day and admission is free.
Saturday and Sunday, the Pinto Horse Association of New York State holds its Spring Fling horse show at the 4-H Ring beginning at 7:30 a.m. each day. Admission is free. Pintos and their riders will compete in all disciplines for youths, amateurs, and open exhibitors. More information is available at http://nypinto.org/.
And on Sunday, The Empire State Theatre and Musical Instrument Museum presents its Mother’s Day special concert with American Theatre Organ Society Young Artist of the Year Nathan Avakian on the world famous Syracuse Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ. Doors open at the Empire Theater at 2:00 p.m. Admission for non-members of the CNY Theatre Organ Society is $15 for adults, $2 for children. The New York State Fair, operated by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, runs from August 21 – September 1, 2014. The Fair’s mission, reflected in its 2014 theme, “Summer’s Best in Show,” is to showcase the best of New York agriculture while providing top-quality entertainment.
