NYS Indoor Kart Racing Championship at the New York State Fairgrounds This Weekend

Acting State Fair Director Troy Waffner today announced the following event scheduled at the New York State Fairgrounds on December 6th:

The 22nd Annual NYS Indoor Kart Racing Championship will take place Saturday, December 6th in the Center of Progress Building. Gates will open at 11:00 a.m. and race times will run from approximately 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission for adults is $15.00 and children under 12 is $10.00, while those under the age of five are free.

Last year’s race drew over 100 entries in 18 classes. Between the heats, consolation races, and main events, there are approximately 70 races packed into six hours of non-stop action. Unlike other forms of racing you may have seen, there are no long delays between races. One group exits the track, and the next comes on. The noise never dies down, and the action on the track never stops.

The home of the Great New York State Fair is a 375-acre exhibit and entertainment complex that operates all year. A year-round schedule of events is available on the Fair’s website.  Find the Great New York State Fair on Facebook, follow @NYSFair on Twitter, and enjoy photos from the Fair at Flickr.com/photos/nysfair. Also, New Yorkers are invited to send their ideas for the Great New York State Fair at statefairideas@agriculture.ny.gov.
