Media Advisory: Agriculture Commissioner Returns to Southern Tier to Outline Eligible Counties under Governor Cuomo’s $30 Million Proposal
“Over the past week, I’ve received dozens of calls from farmers, agribusinesses and lawmakers asking which counties will be eligible under Governor Cuomo’s $30 million agricultural economic development proposal. After careful consideration and feedback from potential stakeholders, we feel that the counties included will strike the right balance between agricultural and geographic diversity.”
- State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball
On Wednesday, March 18, State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball will be hosting a press conference in Elmira to outline the eligible counties under Governor Cuomo’s $30 million Southern Tier agricultural economic development proposal, which is included in the 2015-16 Executive Budget. The Southern Tier’s agricultural sector has a breadth of diversity and great potential for growth. This new initiative would help farmers and agribusinesses in the region harness that potential, while creating jobs and opportunities throughout the region.
