The Great New York State Fair’s Group Sales Program Offers Affordable Fun for Businesses and Organizations
Group Sales Rising Sharply as Businesses Discover the Fun of the Fair
The Great New York State Fair’s Group Sales program offers companies and organizations an affordable way to provide their employees, clients, or group members with a fun experience during the 2015 Great New York State Fair. Organizations interested in participating in the program have until August 14 to submit their orders, State Fair Acting Director Troy Waffner announced today.
Through the program, groups of 100 or more admission tickets can be purchased with discounts that grow larger as the size of the order increases, as shown through the following schedule:
- 100 to 249 tickets: $5.75 each
- 250 to 499 tickets: $5.50 each
- 500 to 999 tickets: $5.25 each
- 1,000 to 1999 tickets: $5.00 each
- 2,000 or more tickets: $4.75 each
Additionally, organizations can order parking passes for $5 each, Best Bets Bargain Books which offer more than 100 money-saving coupons at the Fair for $4 each, and ride-all-day wristbands for the Wade Shows Midway for $20 each. To place an order, download the form at http://www.nysfair.org/group-ticket-sales/ and submit it by fax or mail according to the instructions on the form.
“The Fair is known for the excitement and fun it brings to families, but it can also bring that same joy to employees of companies and organizations as well,” said Waffner.
Group sales have been increasing as businesses discover the fun of the fair. Last year, more than 28,000 tickets were sold through the group sales program, an increase of 22% from the 23,000 sold in 2013, which, in turn, was an increase of 26% from the 18,300 sold in 2012.
Loretto Community Residences of Syracuse recently bought 4,000 tickets through the program for its employees. “At Loretto, our employees strive to allow elders to live with comfort and wholeness. The Fair’s Group Sales program helps us to thank them for the hard work and effort they put forward daily,” said Michele Rita Gottschalk of Loretto, who chairs the company’s Works to Appreciate and Value Employees committee.
The Great New York State Fair, the oldest and one of the largest state fairs in America, presents high-quality entertainment to its guests. The Fair will feature dozens of free concerts at Chevy Court in 2015 by national touring artists such as Snoop Dogg, R5 and Meghan Trainor. The Fair also offers a multitude of colorful and exciting rides and games on the Wade Shows Midway, a diverse array of food and merchandise vendors, and exhibits highlighting the strength of New York agriculture.

The New York State Fair, operated by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, runs from August 27 to September 7, 2015. The Fair’s mission, reflected in its 2015 theme, “Summer’s Best in Show,” is to showcase the best of New York agriculture while providing top-quality entertainment. This year’s tagline – “New Attractions, Old Favorites, Timeless Fun” – highlights the more than two dozen new events and attractions and the expansion or enhancement of several Fairgoer favorites.
In addition to the annual New York State Fair, the Fairgrounds host dozens of agricultural events throughout the year, including some of the Northeast’s most prestigious horse and livestock shows.
The home of the Great New York State Fair is a 375-acre exhibit and entertainment complex that operates all year. A year-round schedule of events is available on the Fair’s website.
