Jason Derulo Brings Hot New Music to Chevy Court at the Great New York State Fair

Top Act of 2014 Fair May Be Even Bigger This Year with New Album, TV Appearances

Jason Derulo, whose appearance at the 2014 Great New York State Fair was the largest of the year, will return to the Chevy Court stage on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 8 p.m., Acting Fair Director Troy Waffner announced today.  Derulo will perform in place of Meghan Trainor, who cancelled her entire tour for health reasons.

Derulo wowed a Chevy Court crowd of 22,800 last year, the largest crowd for any show at the Fair.  In June, 2015, he released his fourth studio album, “Everything Is 4,” which merges his pop, dance, and urban sensibilities and finds him truly hitting his stride as a genre-defying artist. The album debuted in the #4 position on the Billboard Hot 100 and its first single, “Want To Want Me,” hit #1 and was the most added single in the history of Top 40 radio.  His new single, “Cheyenne,” is rising on the Top 40 charts now. He’s sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, with 11 songs hitting the top 10 and six in the top five. His music has been seen more than 2 billion times on YouTube.  Derulo can also be found on TVs across America, as a judge on this year’s edition of “So You Think You Can Dance.”

“We are fortunate to be able to find a performer of Jason Derulo’s stature on such short notice.  He was a big star last year and he’s even bigger this year, so I’m expecting a large crowd and another terrific night of great music for his fans.  Our team worked hard to secure an act that would live up to our reputation as perhaps the best free music series at any state fair in America, and I believe we’ve done that,” Waffner said.

Indie pop group Echosmith will perform at 2 p.m. that day.  Echosmith is known for its 2013 hit, “Cool Kids,” and is made up of Sydney, Jamie, Noah, and Graham Sierota.

Chevrolet sponsors the acclaimed concert series on Chevy Court.
