Only Three Days Left to Vote for the Great New York State Fair as the Best State Fair in the Country

The Great New York State Fair in the Running for USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Travel Award Contest

There are only three days left to vote for the Great New York State Fair as the Best State Fair in the country, announced Acting Fair Director Troy Waffner. The Great New York State Fair is in the running for USA TODAY’s 2015 10Best Readers' Choice travel award contest, and New Yorkers and fairgoers are encouraged to continue to vote at http://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-state-fair/.  Voting ends this Monday, September 28 at noon.

“The 2015 Great New York State Fair was all about our traditional Fair favorites with just enough new rides, activities, exhibits and food to make for a winning combination. We couldn’t be prouder of our free music concert lineup, which broke attendance records this year, and our commitment to local agriculture that has continued to grow. With only days left to vote, we hope New Yorkers and fairgoers will get online and vote for us as Best State Fair in the country,” said Waffner.

USA TODAY’s expert panel selected the Great New York State Fair as a contender for Best State Fair contest, which launched August 31. The contest gave voters four weeks to vote for their favorite choice.

The direct link to vote is at http://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-state-fair/great-new-york-state-fair-syracuse-n-y/.  A person can vote once a day for the run of the contest.  Winners will be announced on 10Best on Friday, October 2 at noon, then later on USA TODAY.

The New York State Fair, operated by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, will run from August 25 until September 5, 2016. The Fair’s mission, reflected in its theme, “Summer’s Best in Show,” is to showcase the best of New York agriculture while providing top-quality entertainment.

In addition to the annual New York State Fair, the Fairgrounds host dozens of agricultural events throughout the year, including some of the Northeast’s most prestigious horse and livestock shows.

The home of the Great New York State Fair is a 375-acre exhibit and entertainment complex that operates all year. A year-round schedule of events is available on the Fair’s website.
