State Agriculture Commissioner Announces Pride of New York Marketing Materials Now Available
Pride of New York Launches Fulfillment House Webpage
State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball today announced that the recently relaunched Pride of New York website features a new fulfillment house function for marketing and branding materials. At the request of Pride of New York participants, growers and producers across the state can now visit the Pride of New York fulfillment house, located under the About Us section on the Pride of New York homepage, to order banners, stickers and other branding materials to display alongside local New York State products.
Commissioner Ball said, “We’ve heard from our Pride of New York members and are pleased to make marketing materials available to them so they can prominently display their products as New York State products. Consumers want to know where their food comes from and with our agricultural producers labeling their products under the New York State brand, shoppers can easily identify them as locally grown, made and produced, which in turn will help grow our agricultural economy.”
The fulfillment house makes it easy for the more than 3,000 members of the Pride of New York program to order materials for their business. All proceeds from the sale of the marketing materials will be used to replenish any depleted stock.

My experience has shown me that the consumer wants to Buy Local and Buy New York. The Pride of New York brand helps identify merchants who are selling these locally grown products.”
Katherine Gregory, Founder and President of the Entrepreneur Space in Long Island City said, “Pride of New York allows the world to see the vast variety of products grown and processed in New York State, celebrating the great bounty that is New York. When food-preneurs join the Pride of New York program they proudly display the Pride of New York logo on their website and printed materials. They become part of the "locavore" movement. In addition to being part of a strong group, the ability to showcase their products on the Pride of New York website encourages collaborative partnerships between upstate farmers and downstate food manufacturers. Here at the Entrepreneur Space, a city-sponsored food and business incubator in Queens, our 400 clients are encouraged to participate in the Pride of New York program.”
John Bartow, Executive Director of the Empire State Forest Products Association, said, “We are just deploying the Pride of New York program in New York's forest products industry and the fulfillment house will allow our members to more easily and rapidly establish the Pride of New York program and materials in our industry. We thank Governor Cuomo and Commissioner Ball for launching this new webpage and for making it easier for us all to be proud New Yorkers.”
The streamlined Pride of New York website also allows consumers to quickly find Pride of New York products by using the updated advanced search tool, which provides options to search by category, county and item. In addition, the website features its newest members on the homepage.
The Pride of New York program is designed to highlight and promote the benefits of locally produced and grown agricultural products and build consumer awareness. It is also an important partner to Governor Cuomo’s Taste NY initiative, which is dedicated to promoting New York’s food and beverage industries and has created opportunities for local producers to showcase their goods at large public events such as the Great New York State Fair and special events with organizations such as the Culinary Institute of America and the New York Racing Association. The program has also opened stores at Thruway rest stops, along the state’s highways, New York City airports, and transportation hubs, enabling travelers to buy New York State’s homegrown and homemade products.
In October 2013, Governor Cuomo unveiled the Pride of New York Pledge. More than 300 restaurants have taken this Pledge, committing to increase their use of New York products by at least 10 percent.
