The Great New York State Fair Doubles Tickets Available for ‘Cyber Monday’ Sale

More People Will Be Able to Take Advantage of the Lowest Ticket Prices Possible

The Great New York State Fair’s Cyber Monday online admission ticket sale returns on Monday, November 30 with twice as many tickets available as last year, Acting Fair Director Troy Waffner announced today.   The Fair will make available 20,000 tickets beginning at 6 a.m. at http://www.etix.com/ticket/p/6696258.  Tickets will sell for $3 each, which is 50% off the advance sale price and 70% off the $10 price at the gate, and are good for admission any day of the 2016 Fair.

“This is the lowest price we will sell a ticket for all season and I urge the Fair’s many fans to set their alarm clocks to get their tickets early.  There’s no better value than getting into the nation’s very best state fair for $3,” said Waffner.

Last year, 10,000 tickets sold out in about 90 minutes, which is why the number of tickets available this year has doubled, Waffner said.

Purchases are limited to four tickets per person.  A credit card charge of 7 cents will be added to each ticket sold. Tickets are barcoded and can either be printed at home or be scanned on a smartphone at the gate.  Buyers will receive a receipt by e-mail with instructions on how to access their tickets.

More Special Promotions

The Fair will present two other opportunities to purchase admissions tickets at prices below the $6 advance sale rate.  A new promotion will take place on February 25, 2016, the date which marks exactly six months before the opening of the 2016 Fair.  The “Six Months To Go” promotion will make 10,000 tickets available at $4.  Also, the successful Cinco de Mayo promotion, first launched last year, will return on May 5, with 15,555 tickets available beginning at 5:55 a.m. for $5.

The regular advance sale program will begin in July, making tickets available for $6, a 40% savings over the cost of admission during the Fair.

The Fair will also bring back its special pricing days in 2016.  The wildly successful Dollar Day on Labor Day event sets admission at just $1, and Three-Dollar Thursdays will return with all admissions at $3 on August 25 and September 1.  Some of the Fair’s special days also provide free admission for certain groups.  Check the Fair’s website at nysfair.org for the full list of special days.

Tickets purchased online for the 2015 Fair came from 36 states and two Canadian provinces, broadening the reach of the Great New York State Fair.

The New York State Fair, operated by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, runs from August 25 to September 5, 2016.  The Fair’s mission, reflected in its theme, “Summer’s Best in Show,” is to showcase the best of New York agriculture while providing top-quality entertainment.

In addition to the annual New York State Fair, the Fairgrounds host dozens of agricultural events throughout the year, including some of the Northeast’s most prestigious horse and livestock shows.

The home of the Great New York State Fair is a 375-acre exhibit and entertainment complex that operates all year. A year-round schedule of events is available on the Fair’s website.  The Fair’s official mobile phone app is in the Google Play and iTunes stores.
