Sold Out ! The Great New York State Fair Cyber Monday Promotion Ends As 20,000 Tickets Are Sold

The Great New York State Fair’s Cyber Monday online special promotion sold out this afternoon with 20,000 tickets purchased by fairgoers from across the country, Acting Fair Director Troy Waffner announced.  Tickets sold for $3 each, the lowest price for an admission ticket that will be offered to the 2016 Fair.

“We doubled the number of tickets available for Cyber Monday this year and tickets went very quickly.  The Fair’s fans know a deal when they see it and they didn’t wait.  We’re getting some great feedback about this promotion, and we’re grateful to the people who took advantage of today’s sale and who are clearly excited about what’s sure to be the best Fair ever for 2016,” said Waffner.

As with the inaugural Cyber Monday sale last year, tickets were sold all over the country.  People today bought tickets in 14 states and in Canada.  The Fair’s growing online sales presence is helping broaden its reach, bringing people to the Fair from all over the continent.

There will be two more ticket promotions for the 2016 Fair.  The first, on February 25, 2016, marks the halfway point in the year before the opening of the Fair on August 25 and features 10,000 tickets at $4 each.  The successful Cinco de Mayo promotion returns on May 5, 2016, with 15,555 tickets available starting at 5:55 a.m. for $5 each.

Regular advanced sale tickets will be available for purchase online for $6, a 40% savings over the $10 price at the gate, starting in July.

Groups and businesses buying large numbers of tickets can receive volume discounts through the Fair’s Group Sales program by calling Nick Pirro at 315-487-7711.
Special pricing days will also return in 2016, with Dollar Day on Labor Day offering gate admission and Wade Shows Midway rides for $1 each, and Three Dollar Thursdays offering $3 admission on those days.  Some of the Fair’s special days offer free admission to certain groups on particular days.  Check the Fair’s website for a complete list at www.nysfair.org.

The New York State Fair, operated by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, runs from August 25 to September 5, 2016.  The Fair’s mission, reflected in its theme, “Summer’s Best in Show,” is to showcase the best of New York agriculture while providing top-quality entertainment.

In addition to the annual New York State Fair, the Fairgrounds host dozens of agricultural events throughout the year, including some of the Northeast’s most prestigious horse and livestock shows.

The home of the Great New York State Fair is a 375-acre exhibit and entertainment complex that operates all year. A year-round schedule of events is available on the Fair’s website.  The Fair’s official mobile phone app is in the Google Play and iTunes stores.
