Reggae Rockers Magic! Take the Chevy Court Stage at the Great New York State Fair Saturday, Aug. 27
Canadian band Magic! brings its sunny brand of reggae and rock to the stage at Chevy Court at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Great New York State Fair, Acting Fair Director Troy Waffner announced today.
Magic! begins with songwriter-producer Nasri, whose work as half of the production and writing team The Messengers helped earn Grammy awards for Justin Bieber and Chris Brown and spawned hits for many other top artists. Nasri and musician Mark Pellizzer wrote a song together during a studio jam session and a week later formed Magic! to bring the reggae-influenced rock sound of The Police into the modern day.
The band’s 2013 single, “Rude,” rode its love story to the top of the charts. In March, Magic! released the single “Lay You Down Easy,” featuring Sean Paul, as the band continued to record a new album.
“This show by Magic! is part of our commitment to diversity in performers and styles of music. Reggae music was made for summer sunshine and I know this is going to be a fun show,” said Waffner.
