Ithaca’s X Ambassadors Rock Chevy Court at the Great New York State Fair Sept. 3

Ithaca's own X Ambassadors bring their message-driven brand of rock to Chevy Court at the Great New York State Fair at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, Acting Fair Director Troy Waffner announced today. 

The band's first full-length album, "VHS," went top 10 last year and contained the top 20 hit "Renegades," which was used in a national automobile company's ad campaign.  The video for the song was filmed in Ithaca, where the band began, and focused on people with disabilities who overcome their challenges.  It's a personal topic for the band: Keyboardist Casey Harris has been blind since birth.

"This is a great band with an important message and it's an excellent chance to catch them on their way to major stardom.  I hope everyone will take time to see X Ambassadors and support yet another great homegrown product," said Waffner.

  • Chicago, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m.

Chevy Court’s 23 free shows are part of the Fair’s commitment to providing the best and most diverse lineup of music available.  Each year, the Fair and its vendors provide approximately 500 free musical performances. Concerts at Chevy Court are sponsored by Chevrolet.

The New York State Fair, operated by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, runs from August 25 to September 5, 2016.  The Fair’s mission is to showcase the best of New York agriculture while providing top-quality entertainment.
