State Fair’s Annual Cyber Monday Sale Offers Tickets to 2017 Fair at Lowest Price Possible

Revitalized, Record-setting Fair Makes a Great Deal Even Better

The Great New York State Fair’s Cyber Monday ticket sale returns on Monday, Nov. 28, offering the lowest price of the year on tickets to the 2017 Fair, Acting Director Troy Waffner announced today. The online-only sale will provide 20,000 admission tickets at just $3 per ticket, which is 50% off the regular advance sale price and 70% off the $10 price at the gate during the Fair. The sale begins at 6 a.m. at the Fair’s online ticket sales site,

“We’ve just completed the greatest Fair in our 175 year history, with the highest marks ever from visitors. The new grounds have never looked better and our programming this year will top last year’s so these tickets are a better value than ever. I encourage fairgoers to get their tickets early since they definitely won’t last,” said Waffner.

Tickets sold on Cyber Monday are only sold online and on the Fair’s official online ticket seller, Etix charges 13 cents per ticket and a credit card fee of 2.5% per ticket, making the total cost of each ticket $3.21. Purchases are limited to 8 tickets per person. Buyers may either print out the tickets or use their mobile phone or device at the gate to show proof of purchase for entrance to the Fair.

The 2016 Fair was the most successful in its long history, with more than 1.1 million people visiting the revitalized Fairgrounds over 12 days. Thanks to Governor Cuomo’s $50 million revitalization, the first major investment at the Fairgrounds in approximately 80 years, fairgoers entered through a beautiful new Main Gate to find a Fair that had been reshaped. Fairgoers gave high marks to the open space, to the new and expanded Wade Shows Midway—which set records for revenue and ridership, to the sold out new Empire RV Park, and to the continued effort to provide more seating, shade, and restroom facilities.

To build on the success of the first phase of redevelopment and continue to create added economic benefit for the region and state, the Governor has created a Phase Two Task Force to come up with ideas for additional investment of up to $50 million.

In addition, Fair staff members are working to bring new attractions and events to the 2017 Fair, as well as the Chevy Court lineup of free, national touring acts. The Fair already boasts one of the largest investments in grounds entertainers and exhibits of any fair in America.

At least two more special admission ticket promotions will occur before the Fair. The Halfway to the Fair sale will take place on Friday, Feb. 24 when tickets will be $4 each, and the Cinco de Mayo sale, when tickets will be $5 each, will take place on Friday, May 5. The regular advance sale ticket effort begins in July at $6 per ticket. Groups and businesses buying at least 100 tickets can receive special discounts through the Fair’s Group Sales program. The Fair offers many days during its 12-day run in which certain groups of people receive free admission. The best-known are the two Senior Days for senior citizens but there are also free days for police, fire and emergency workers, current and retired members of the military, Native Americans and students. The Fair will also keep its special $3 Thursdays, offering admission on the two Thursdays of the Fair for $3, and Dollar Day on Labor Day when admission and rides on the Wade Shows Midway are $1.
