Media Advisory: Agriculture Commissioner Kicks Off Farm-To-School Summit
WHAT:State Agriculture Commissioner kicks off the State’s Farm-to-School Summit to help increase the use of locally grown food on school menus. More than 100 school representatives will join state and federal agency leaders from the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets, NYS Department of Education, and United States Department of Agriculture to discuss the procurement process, supply chain and buying network. The Summit delivers on Governor Cuomo’s promise made in his State of the State address to expand programs that provide school children with healthier meal options and to grow the agricultural economy.
