Media Advisory: State Agriculture Department Celebrates NYS Grown & Certified and Upcoming Maple Weekends with Ceremonial Tree Tapping Friday
Representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Markets will join the Upper Hudson Maple Producers Association and Maple Acres for a ceremonial maple tree tapping in celebration of the New York State Grown & Certified program and upcoming Maple Weekends.
Maple Acres is a family-owned and operated maple sugaring business. They have been producing 100% pure maple syrup for five generations and recently joined the NYS Grown & Certified program.
New York State ranks second in the nation in syrup production and generates an estimated economic impact of $141 million each year. Annual Maple Weekends are March 17-18 and March 24-25.
