All Time Low to Perform on Experience Stage at the 2018 Great New York State Fair

Concerts Complement "Central NY Rising" - The Region's Comprehensive Strategy to Revitalize Communities and Grow the Economy

All Time Low, whose six albums and many singles have made them a rock radio staple for the last decade, will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, August 23 on the Experience Stage in the New York Experience festival area on the western end of the Fairgrounds, Acting Director Troy Waffner announced today.  The performance comes on the first of two Three Dollar Thursdays, which features admission for just $3. Free concerts at the Fair complement Central New York Rising, the region’s comprehensive strategy to grow the economy.

"We've built a beautiful festival grounds on the west end and know that All Time Low will draw a great crowd there to enjoy the scenery there and some excellent music. We're excited for the lineup on our second stage," Waffner said.

Several national touring acts will perform on the stage, including Eddie Money, who will perform at 7 p.m. on opening night, Wednesday, August 22. The stage will also feature a mix of major bands from across Upstate New York and national touring tribute bands.  The stage will also host performances for the new Latino Village Weekend and the returning Syracuse JAMS FunkFest.

About All Time Low

Formed in 2003, founding members Alex Gaskarth, Jack Barakat, Zack Merrick and Rian Dawson have placed their last five albums in the top 10, including last year's "Last Young Renegade."  "There’s a very nostalgic quality to this record," Gaskarth said. "There are a lot of strings that tie each song together, which had to do with what we were going through at the time. All of these things were quietly affecting where my head was at creatively. The deaths of Prince, David Bowie, and George Michael and watching shows like Stranger Things brought me back to being a little kid. There are touches of those inspirations creeping across. It’s those emotions of sitting in front of the TV cross-legged at six-years-old watching Ghostbusters for the first time. That was a guiding force for how we wrote and approached this." “It wasn’t about recreating anything directly, but trying to simply reflect those emotions,” Barakat agreed. Gaskarth added, “We asked ourselves, ‘How do we not only get that feeling, but give it to people?’”

Known for unforgettable shows around the globe, the band has also ignited stages everywhere from Voodoo Music Experience to Warped Tour and on the road with blink-182, Fall Out Boy, Green Day and more.

Accelerating Central NY Rising

Today's announcement complements “Central NY Rising,” the region’s comprehensive blueprint to generate robust economic growth and community development. The State has already invested more than $4.7 billion in the region since 2012 to lay the groundwork for the plan capitalizing on global market opportunities, strengthening entrepreneurship and creating an inclusive economy. Today, unemployment is down to the lowest levels since before the Great Recession; personal and corporate income taxes are down; and businesses are choosing places like Syracuse, Oswego and Auburn as a destination to grow and invest in.

Now, the region is accelerating Central NY Rising with a $500 million State investment through the Upstate Revitalization Initiative, announced by Governor Cuomo in December 2015. The State’s $500 million investment will incentivize private business to invest well over $2.5 billion and the region’s plan, as submitted, projects up to 5,900 new jobs.
