Marketing and Promotion
Promoting the agricultural community is a high priority for Governor Cuomo and the Department. The Division of Agricultural Development administers numerous programs to increase exposure for foods and beverages produced in New York State.
In only a few years, Taste NY has become one of the most successful marketing programs in New York State history, shining the spotlight on the array of high-quality foods and beverages produced in New York. The Taste NY initiative includes Taste NY retail stores and exhibits at important events as well as vending machines, roadside signage and kiosks placed throughout the State. It also has its own website featuring up-to-date information on Taste NY locations.
Cuisine trails recognize and promote specific regions with signs along major highways and roads. They raise awareness of local businesses and attract new visitors. If you are interested in designating part of your community as a Cuisine Trail, complete and return the application to the Department.
The Department is a member of a consortium of ten northeast State Departments of Agriculture, known as Food Export USA-Northeast, which serves to promote the sale of U. S. products internationally. As a member, the Department facilitates participation of numerous New York State food and agricultural companies in Food Export USA-Northeast sponsored activities, provides export and international promotion assistance.
